The King

The Pagani Huayra is an unbelievable car that catches your breath from every angle. It is so great from every aspect it isn’t even considered a supercar, it's considered a hypercar. Other cars that share the same title of hypercar is the Bugatti Veyron, the Mclaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder, the Ferrari La Ferrari, and the Koenigsegg Agera. From the cars listed above you can tell that it is quite an achievement to be regarded as a hypercar. The Pagani Huayra was limited to only 100 units worldwide and this was the only one in the New England area so it was absolutely incredible that this beast was in our presence.

What made this Huayra more special was that this was actually the one of a kind Pagani Huayra dubbed “The King”. It has some differences from the regular Pagani which made it even more or a privilege that we could see it. The Pagani Huayra succeeded the Pagani Zonda, both of which were designed by Horacio Pagani. Horacio Pagani is the son of a baker in Argentina with Italian descendants so it’s pretty fascinating that he was able to create such beautiful pieces of work.

The Pagani Huayra doesn’t have the power of a Bugatti but it still has absurd amounts of power. The Huayra has a twin turbo 6 liter V12 engine developed by Mercedes AMG specially for this model. It’s located in the back of the monster. That engine can pump out 730 horsepower. This results in a vehicle that is able to go from 0 - 62 mph in 3 seconds flat and a top speed of 238 miles per hour.

The exterior doesn’t really appeal to some people but I find it to be exquisite. I just love how at the front of this car it tapers into a point to give it more of an intense feel about it. “The King” had a brilliant look to it. It was finished mostly in carbon fiber with a striking dark red carbon fiber stripe right down the middle of this Huayra. One big tell to really let you know that this is “The King” is that the license plate actually says THEKING. Everything about this car just ties in and compliments everything else in a superb way. The headlights have this kind of double slit like design. The side mirrors also had lots of thought put into them. They have an almost tear shaped area at the end of a nice curving rod resulting in an elegant appealing side mirror. Horacio Pagani actually designed them to look like a woman's eyes.

The air vents throughout this vehicle improve performance. The doors open straight up in a butterfly style and the hood opens up away from the center of the Pagani.Just in front of the rear wheel on both sides you can find Horacio Pagani’s signature. Now onto the rear. The rear end lights roughly resemble the same design as the side mirrors with that tear drop like shape. Inside that you will find three small circles for the actual lights. In the circles there is silver hexagon pattern. For the exhaust there are four exhaust pipes configured into a square in the center of the back.

You will also notice the word Huayra on the right side. This took 24 hours to hand carve out of a solid block of silver. This just proves the lengths that Pagani will go to to execute unimaginable luxury. You will not only find looks in this car but also decent amounts of technology. The Pagani Huayra has active aerodynamics meaning that the car will change the ways that it performs giving you the optimal driving experience. It has 4 flaps that will raise and lower depending on the speed that you are going at to increase downforce or to slow you down when you are braking hard and going around corners.

As you can expect from an exclusive Italian hypercar company the interior is just fantastic. These pictures don’t do it justice. There is just high quality no matter where you look. The seats to begin with have immaculate materials and design. They are made out of the best leather that money can possibly buy. They also have an interesting design where there is a slit down the center of the seat. It was finished in black and white leather with red stitching. Because this was “The King” it had a red crown sewn into the headrest. At the bottom of the seat there is a button that you twist. All that this does is move the seat up and down. The inside is also finished mostly in carbon fiber. The steering wheel isn’t as complicated as some other cars out there but it still has some functions. The center console has lots of futuristic buttons with many different purposes. The inside of the doors has also been finished off pleasantly. There are also multiple air vents placed strategically around the interior to give the driver and the passenger optimal comfort. It’s just a tremendous interior.The Pagani Huayra is without a doubt an outstanding vehicle that will always be remembered as one of the greats.
