This was the first model of the famous Maserati Ghibli. This is the model that was being manufactured from 1967-73. The car was instantly a huge success. It was named in the top ten sports cars of the 60’s by lots of different car magazines and articles. This isn’t a surprise considering the appearance of this beast. It is rather amazing just to look at. The Ghibli has this sharp aggressive front and those pop-up headlights. This gives the car that classic retro look that some people just adore, including me. The rear also had that classic late 60s feel about it.
The Maserati Ghibli had a V8 that had a staggering 310 horsepower. This wasn’t the most horsepower that cars back then had but it was still quite a lot. Even in today’s standards this is still more than the majority of family cars or very close to what they have. It had a steel chassis which meant that it wasn’t the lightest car ever built. With a curb weight of almost 4,000 pounds this limited the cars top speed to 154 miles per hour.

This car had quite an incredible interior. Almost all of it was presented quite beautifully with leather upholstery. From the seat to the doors even to the center console there is leather. The steering wheel has a sleek wood finish and also has the recognizable Maserati Trident right in the middle of it. The interior also has many dials and switches which are easy to see. Another cool thing about the Maserati Ghibli is its absolutely huge rear window. It takes up the most of back of this vehicle. This gives you the opportunity to effortlessly look behind you and also lets you behold the great inside. This was a truly an incredible car that was really influential in supercar evolution throughout the late 60s to the early 70s.
