The Great R8

The 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus is a very special car. It was an incredible opportunity to be able to get up close and sit in this beast of a car considering that it will not even be available for sale for about another 6 months.

The R8 is Audi’s highest performance car, with a V10 engine that makes 610 horsepower in the 2017 V10 plus model. There are some minor changes to the exterior. Most of the lines, angles, and curves have been hardened to create a more fierce appearance. The major upgrade over the old R8 comes in the interior. Audi has made a few major upgrades which includes the massive display for the dashboard that looks absolutely stunning in person. Audi has gone for a much cleaner look on the interior, ditching the big display in the center console. This has been replaced with a gear shifter, controls for the ac, and controls for the big dashboard. There is a carbon fiber option for the interior of the R8, which the model we were able to look at, did have. This will add lots of carbon fiber to the interior, which in my opinion is a good thing because more exposed carbon fiber eliminates the need for extra materials to cover it causing the car to become lighter which will improve performance. The steering wheel now includes the start button and controls for drive mode, phone, and turn signals. The exterior color of this particular R8 was finished in a beautiful metallic blue that looked stunning especially on this model. Everything about this car just compliments everything else exceptionally.
